An Ugly Win

Winning ugly. A catchy way to describe an imperfect victory, but a victory eked out nonetheless. In sports, it's considered okay to win ugly, and sometimes even seen as a growth exercise. And while political races can be the fiercest competition of all, winning ugly carries a different weight in Washington.

RARE: CNN Airs Criticism Of The Basis For The Bragg Case Against Trump

The Regime Media has promoted, covered, and obsessed over the Bragg prosecution of Donald Trump in New York City- the so-called “hush money” trial. And they have done so, continuously. But tonight, CNN takes the extraordinary step of airing the case against the indictment. Watch as Boston University law professor Jed Handelsman Shugerman lays out the case, as aired on CNN NewsNight With Abby Phillip on Wednesday, August 24th, 2024 (click “expand”): ABBY PHILLIP: Professor, you say- see, three red flags with this case. What are they? JED HANDELSMAN SHUGERMAN: Well the three red flags are: first, that there has- there's no reported case. I've checked the records of state cases. There's no state case that shows a state prosecutor using the Federal Election Campaign Act, which is the- really the crime that the prosecutors are alleging here. A federal election violation, a federal campaign filing violation as the basis, either directly or indirectly, for any crime. So that is a first example of what's unprecedented here, and there- this is not just a coincidence. There are good reasons why a federal prosecutor has complete control to the exclusion of the states for enforcing something as complicated as the Federal Election Campaign Act. That's the first one.  The second problem is that there is no example of this statute that relies on an intent to defraud being such a broad general public. The idea that one would be defrauding the general public or voters. There's no precedent for using it for election interference.  And the final problem is the use of this statute. But basically what the business filing violation is, a misdemeanor with intent to defraud, it becomes a felony only if the prosecutors can show an intent to commit or conceal another crime. The Trump lawyers pointed out, made an argument that- in New York, there is a problem with trying to use the filing. The mis filing to upgrade it to a felony, relying on another jurisdiction. And the Manhattan DA could only point to two examples, neither of which is a judicial interpretation. So it's an untested theory. Those two cases, one was a guilty plea and one was jury instruction. Neither one counts as a judge hearing an argument and ruling on it. So those are examples of how this case, three examples of how it's unte- based on untested legal theories and on unprecedented applications. Shugerman is the author of an op-ed recently published in The New York Times, subtly titled: I Thought the Bragg Case Against Trump Was a Legal Embarrassment. Now I Think It’s a Historic Mistake. In criticizing the case as a selective prosecution, Shugerman writes: Eight years after the alleged crime itself, it is reasonable to ask if this is more about Manhattan politics than New York law. This case should serve as a cautionary tale about broader prosecutorial abuses in America — and promote bipartisan reforms of our partisan prosecutorial system. Nevertheless, prosecutors should have some latitude to develop their case during trial, and maybe they will be more careful and precise about the underlying crime, fraud and the jurisdictional questions. Mr. Trump has received sufficient notice of the charges, and he can raise his arguments on appeal. One important principle of “our Federalism,” in the Supreme Court’s terms, is abstention, that federal courts should generally allow state trials to proceed first and wait to hear challenges later. This case is still an embarrassment of prosecutorial ethics and apparent selective prosecution. Nevertheless, each side should have its day in court. If convicted, Mr. Trump can fight many other days — and perhaps win — in appellate courts. But if Monday’s opening is a preview of exaggerated allegations, imprecise legal theories and persistently unaddressed problems, the prosecutors might not win a conviction at all. It should be noted that Shugerman is no Trump fan. During the segment he claimed to have never voted for a Republican, and criticized Trump’s description of the Bragg prosecution as “election interference”- citing the Biden Department of Justice’s refusal to bring the case forth.  Abby Phillip questioned Shugerman’s theories, then had her legal panel do likewise. Shugerman held his own and then some. The panel was an extremely rare break from the hysterical “walls are closing in” coverage that the media have given this matter to date. Will there be more of it? Given the ease with which Shugerman made his case, I’m not so sure.

OF COURSE: CBS’s O’Donnell Asks ‘Progressive’ Pope Francis Obligatory Climate Question

CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell delivered this evening’s newscast from Rome, and her interview with Pope Francis featured heavily within the newscast. But if the early tease is any indication, O’Donnell devoted the interview to the reheating of the media’s same old talking points regarding the Catholic Church. Case in point: the media love Francis on climate change, and often hail him as a “progressive”.  Watch as O’Donnell does both of these things: NORAH O’DONNELL: Francis is also the first pontiff to make climate change a priority. In 2015, to make an important point, images of the environment were projected onto St. Peter's Basilica, the dome designed in the mid-16th Century by Michelangelo. What do you say to the deniers of climate change? POPE FRANCIS: There are people who are foolish, and foolish even if you show them research, they don't believe it. Why? Because they don't understand the situation or because of their interest. But climate change exists. O’DONNELL: His progressive style has made him popular worldwide, with millions coming here to St. Peter's Square to catch a glimpse of the Holy Father. OF COURSE O’Donnell asked the question and CBS aired it, given Francis’ proclivities and economic orthodoxies, as well as the fact that “Earth Day” was observed earlier this week. The questions with answers reflecting that the Pope is still a Catholic, such as on abortion and marriage, will have to wait for the full broadcast three and half weeks from now. The interview opens with O’Donnell trying to bait the Pope into calling Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza a “genocide”, an invitation to attack Israel that Francis appears to resist based on the footage aired tonight. The Pope then takes another question on Gaza and redirects it towards Ukraine.  After some conversation on children comes the climate question, which Francis answers in a manner that temporarily delights the left. O’Donnell goes on to hail the Pope’s “progressive style” and implied subsequent  popularity, before citing data suggesting that Church membership in the U.S. is declining. The full interview will air in three and a half weeks and feature O’Donnell running the Pope through the entire leftwing policy pupu platter. Very predictably so. Click “expand” to view the  transcript of the interview fragment as aired on the CBS Evening News on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024: NORAH O’DONNELL: Oh, my goodness. Bongiorno, Your Holiness. What an honor. So wonderful to meet you.  POPE FRANCIS: Lovely to meet you.  O’DONNELL: Love to meet you. Yes. Thank you so much for doing this.  We met Pope Francis today at Casa Santa Marta, the guest house where the pontiff lives, instead of the lavish papal palace. At 87 years old, he may have trouble walking, but he had no difficulty sitting down with us for an hour long conversation. How is your health? POPE FRANCIS: My health is good. O’DONNELL: In nearly every address… POPE FRANCIS: …who suffers so much from the war…  O’DONNELL: The pope often calls for peace. He condemned Hamas' October 7th attack, but has also called on Israel to use restraint.  There are now pictures of starving children coming out of Gaza. What about those that call that a genocide? POPE FRANCIS: Genocide. Every afternoon at 7:00 P.M., I call Gaza to the parish. There are about 600 people there, and they tell me what’s going on. It's very hard. Very, very hard. Food goes in, but they have to fight for it. It's very hard. O’DONNELL: I know you call for peace. You have called for a ceasefire in many of your sermons. Can you help negotiate peace? POPE FRANCIS: I can pray. I do. I pray a lot. O’DONNELL: During World Children's Day, which is the end of May, the U.N. says over a million people will be facing famine in Gaza. Many of them children. What can be done? POPE FRANCIS: Not only Gaza. We should think about Ukraine. Those kids don't know how to smile. I tell them something, but they forgot how to smile. And this is very hard when a child forgets to smile. That's really very serious. Very serious. O’DONNELL: Do you have a message for Vladimir Putin when it comes to Ukraine? POPE FRANCIS: Please. Countries at war, all of them. Stop the war. Look to negotiate. Look for peace. A negotiated peace is better than a war without end. O’DONNELL: His Most Holy Father is considered one of the most influential people in the world. Leading nearly 1.4 billion Catholics. He is the first pope from the Americas, the first Jesuit, and will host the Vatican's first World Children's Day next month. I love that you take the kids in the Popemobile with you and bring them up to the Apostolic Palace when you say a prayer. Why do you do that? POPE FRANCIS: Children always bear a message. They bear a message and it is a way for us to have a younger heart. O’DONNELL: Francis is also the first pontiff to make climate change a priority. MARY BENNETT: It has made us emotional, just being here, going into St. Peter's Basilica, going into the Sistine Chapel, just tears coming into our eyes because we are actually, you can feel the spirit. O’DONNELL: Sophia and Aaron came with their family from San Diego, California. How did it make you feel when he came out the window? SOPHIA: It made me feel good, like butterflies in my stomach. O’DONNELL: Still, the number of Catholics in America is dwindling. In the U.S., only 20% of adults identify as Catholic, and that is down from 24% in 2007.  I wonder if you could speak to those who don't go to Mass anymore, or maybe don't see a place for themselves in the Catholic church. POPE FRANCIS: I would say there is always a place, always. If, in this parish, the priest doesn't seem welcoming, I understand, but go and look. There is always a place. Do not run away from the Church. The Church is very big. It's more than a temple. It's more. You shouldn't run away from it. O’DONNELL: We also asked the Pope about the migrant crisis, gay rights, women's role in the church, and whether he’s thinking about retirement. We'll have that and much more on "60 minutes" on Sunday, May 19th, and then, a prime time special on Monday, May 20th, right here on CBS.

Today in History: Democrats Gather to Hold Their First KKK National Convention in Nashville, Tennessee

When the Civil War ended, and after Republican President Abraham Lincoln liberated the slaves, Democrats initiated Jim Crow laws to punish blacks.

Democrats continued for decades to discriminate against blacks. In fact, the KKK, was founded as the the terrorist wing of the Democrat Party.

The Ku Klux Klan assassinated hundreds of Republicans and their supporters, including Republican Representative James M. Hinds (December 5, 1833—October 22, 1868) of Little Rock.

Hinds represented Arkansas in the United States Congress from June 24, 1868 through October 22, 1868 before his death.

Democrats murdered him.

The Ku Klux Klan was founded as the activist wing of the Democratic Party.

On September 28, 1868, a mob of Democrats massacred nearly 300 African-American Republicans in Opelousas, Louisiana. The savagery began when racist Democrats attacked a newspaper editor, a white Republican and schoolteacher for ex-slaves. Several African-Americans rushed to the assistance of their friend, and in response, Democrats went on a “Negro hunt,” killing every African-American (all of whom were Republicans) in the area they could find. (Via Grand Old Partisan)

Democrats in hoods slaughtered hundreds of Republicans and blacks across the country.
They beat and threatened and murdered Republicans for standing up for the black man.

On April 20, 1871 the Republicans passed the anti-Ku Klux Klan Act outlawing Democratic terrorist groups.

The last KKK official to serve in Washington DC was former Senator Robert Byrd, a KKK kleagle. Byrd was a top Democrat and friend of Joe Biden.

Today in history: Democrats gather to hold their first KKK national convention

Grand Old Partisan reminds us that on April 24, 1867, Democrats held their first national KKK convention  at the Maxwell House in Nashville to establish a nationwide organization.

The first Imperial Wizard was a former Confederate general, Nathan Bedford Forrest. He said that the KKK’s goal was to eradicate the GOP in southern states by terrorizing Republican activists.

This is a reminder of the Democrat Party’s vicious past – and the once brave Republicans who stood for righteousness.

REPORT: Anti-Israel Protesters Planning to ‘Shut Down’ the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner or ‘Nerd Prom’ is happening this weekend on Saturday night. This is the night where a bunch of DC and NYC journalists get together with Democrats and make fun of Republicans for a few hours.

According to new reports, the anti-Israel mob is also planning to attend the event, which could be very interesting.

Most of the journalists who will be attending are ideologically aligned with the protesters, so there shouldn’t be any problems, right?

The Washington Examiner reports:

Pro-Palestinian protests aim to ‘shut down’ Biden, journalist ‘Nerd Prom’

Pro-Palestinian groups and journalists are readying a rally to shut down the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner Saturday at the Washington Hilton over the Biden administration’s handling of the Gaza-Hamas crisis.

“Shut down the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” one group, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, said in an online message. They are calling for protesters to gather down the street from the hotel two hours before the glitzy dinner begins.

Another group, the Committee to Protect Journalists, is urging a boycott by White House reporters who suspend their arms-length relationship with Biden aides for a night of elbow rubbing at the so-called “nerd prom.”

“The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is an embodiment of media manipulation, trading journalistic ethics for access. For journalists to fraternize at an event with President Biden and Vice President Harris would be to normalize, sanitize, and whitewash the administration’s role in genocide,” said the committee.

Revealed: Court Document Release Indicates Jack Smith and FBI Were After Obama- and North Korea-Related Documents in Mar-a-Lago Raid

Guest post by Joe Hoft at JoeHoft.com – republished with permission.

Newly unredacted documents in the Mar-a-Lago raid case indicate that Jack Smith was after Obama and North Korea-related documents.

After the raid the DOJ was pleased with their findings and wrote, “I think we are in good shape.”

President Trump said two years after he met Obama before his 2017 Inauguration that Obama was on the brink of starting a war with North Korea. Trump claimed that Obama was “close to starting a big war” with North Korea.

Obama must not have liked this.

The corrupt and criminal Obama/Biden gang was after documents related to North Korea years later when it raided President Trump’s iconic home of Mar-a-Lago and took President Trump’s documents that he legally had possession of per the Presidential Records Act.

Julie Kelly touched upon this in the latest revelations coming out of the corrupt Biden/Obama/Jack Smith classified documents case against President Trump. The latest unredacted documents that Jack Smith argued not to release show that the Obama/Biden gang was working with multiple government organizations to set up President Trump.

But there is more. Per a document released this week after months of fighting to make the documents available to the American Public, there is a clue as to what the corrupt Biden/Obama gang was after in its raid of Mar-a-Lago. Not only did the regime want to take back all documents that President Trump had possession of that highlighted their crimes, but the regime wanted another key document or set of documents as well.

The corrupt and criminal Biden/Obama regime had to conjure up a reason for why they raided President Trump’s home and stole his documents. They apparently had their reason outlined before they raided President Trump’s home and stole documents he legally had in his possession per the Presidential Records Act.

In the document below there is a clue:

The first document above is a report that was generated after the raid that provides a clue as to what they were after – and it’s not only the accordion folder of Deep State crimes.

“There is one accordian [sp] folder in the mess so it stood out. It contained, among other things, the Obama letter and North Korea correspondence. We need to verify that all of the correspondence is there. But I think we are in good shape.”

The DOJ writes “I think we are in good shape”.

We can guess but based on the corrupt Biden/Obama DOJ’s actions to date, we know that for this regime to believe they were “in good shape”, they were either happy about what they obtained that removed the risk of their crimes being exposed, or they were happy about obtaining documents they were going to use to set up President Trump (North Korea communications), or both.

Why was the DOJ so intent on obtaining Obama and North Korea related documents from President Trump’s home?

NewsBusters Podcast: Pretending the Trump Prosecutors Are Nonpartisans

ABC and CBS almost completely refuse to identify Trump's elected Democrat prosecutors -- Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, and Fani Willis -- as Democrats, and certainly not Democrats elected on a promise to get Trump. NBC dabbles with the D. For example, elected Democrat Alvin Bragg, the District Attorney of Manhattan, was described as a Democrat in 16 of 59 evening-news stories on NBC programs. But CBS never did in 48 Bragg stories. On ABC, there were 56 stories, but viewers only once heard that Bragg was a Democrat — on February 26, 2024, when correspondent Aaron Katersky relayed how “a spokesman for Trump... called Bragg ‘another deranged Democrat prosecutor.’” He's only described as a Democrat when they can make it sound like a wild Trump accusation. Elected Democrat Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York state, NBC mentioned her Democrat-ness in seven of 26 stories. But ABC’s World News Tonight has aired 44 stories mentioning James’s civil suit against Trump and his businesses, yet only one -- back in November -- showed the word "Democrat" in a fleeting on-screen graphic that was shown for less than two seconds. CBS also had one citation (in 35 stories), but only on screen: the March 24, 2024 Sunday night newscast briefly showed a Trump campaign message demanding that “Insane radical Democrat AG Letitia James” keep her “FILTHY HANDS OFF OF TRUMP TOWER.” Elected Democrat Fani Willis, the District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia drew 60 stories on ABC’s World News Tonight (60) and 39 stories on the CBS Evening News, and ZERO out of 99 mentioned she was a Democrat. NBC were the "rampant" labelers at eight out of 50 stories (meaning they skipped it in 84 percent of stories. Longtime MRC Director of Research Rich Noyes (now freelancing from Connecticut) was at MRC headquarters to explain his latest study numbers (ending right before the Trump trial in Manhattan began) and projects it into this election year. He noted that while the networks liked to point out that Kenneth Starr was a "Republican independent counsel," he was never elected, but had served as Solicitor General under the first President Bush. FOX News Analyst From Chicago Says Fed-up City Residents Are Serious About Voting for Trump in November (VIDEO)

FOX News political analyst Gianno Caldwell is from Chicago and says that people in the city have had it with the influx of illegal immigrants and are very serious about voting for Trump in November.

Caldwell says that he is in regular communication with other Chicagoans and that there are enough of these voters to turn Illinois red in the 2024 election.

If you thought liberals were upset when Trump took Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2016, that was nothing compared to the meltdown we would witness if Trump takes Illinois this year.

FOX News reports:

Chicago native says residents livid over liberal mayor’s new migrant funding, ready to vote for Trump

Chicago residents are furious at Mayor Brandon Johnson and the city council for approving a $70 million proposal to bolster the city’s sanctuary city resources, and some think the outrage could favor Republicans in November.

Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell, who grew up in the Windy City, argued that residents will be voting for President Trump in droves during “The Faulkner Focus,” stemming from their anger over the city prioritizing migrants over their citizens.

“They are doing the right thing by saying we’re coming directly for your seats, including you, Mayor Brandon Johnson,” Caldwell told host Harris Faulkner on Tuesday. “[Johnson’s] message to Chicagoans has been quite clear. Get on the back of the bus. Now that’s everybody, but especially those Black voters who are the reason he’s mayor today. Get on the back of the bus.”

“These voters in Chicago… I speak to a lot of them pretty regularly. Pretty weekly. They’re serious about voting for Trump. They’re serious about handing the election in Illinois to Donald Trump, as you only need 20% of Cook County, which is within Chicago,” he continued.

Watch the video below:

Can you even imagine the faces of people on CNN and MSNBC on election night if Chicago goes red?

Watch: ‘The Daily Show’ Mocks Biden’s ‘Cannibals’ Story — ‘You’re Going to Lose the Election’

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show took aim at President Joe Biden on Tuesday, ridiculing the commander in chief for telling a bizarre story in which he claimed his uncle was eaten by cannibals.

The Daily Show co-hosts Jordan Klepper and Ronny Chien devoted an extended segment on Tuesday’s episode to Biden’s recent speech to the United Steelworkers Union in Pittsburgh. In his speech, Biden claimed that his uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, was shot down near Papua New Guinea during World War II and that his body was never recovered because “there were a lot of cannibals” in New Guinea at the time.

Even left-wing news outlets including New York magazine and the Associated Press have cast doubt on Biden’s tale…

“You’re going to lose the election,” Chieng said to Biden.

Vice President Kamala Harris is interviewed by ABC's "This Week" in a piece that aired Sunday.

An armed Secret Service agent assigned to Kamala Harris got into a physical fight with other agents at Joint Base Andrews on Monday morning.

According to reports, the problem agent began acting aggressively, speaking gibberish and shouting incoherently at other agents while they were near the lounge at JBA.

The problem agent had to be physically restrained and his firearm was taken away from him. He was handcuffed and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

One other agent was also hospitalized.

Kamala Harris was at the Naval Observatory at the time of the fight.

“The USSS remains in a temporary holding pattern until further information becomes available, the sources said. After the agent receives additional medical attention and further evaluation, it will be determined if they can return to work. An internal review will be conducted and the USSS will assess if the agent’s top secret security clearance will be removed for medical or disciplinary reasons, sources explained.” CBS News reported.

CBS News reported:

A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris exhibited “distressing behavior” Monday morning at Joint Base Andrews and was hospitalized, authorities said. Harris was not present at the airbase at the time.

In a statement provided to CBS News, the U.S. Secret Service said that at about 9 a.m. local time Monday, the agent “began displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing. The agent was removed from their assignment while medical personnel were summoned.”

Two sources briefed on the situation told CBS News the agent spouted gibberish, was speaking incoherently and provoked another officer physically.

According to sources, the agent in question pushed the special agent in charge while they were near the lounge of Joint Base Andrews.

Student Protester at NYU Appears Unaware Why She is Even There – Turns to Question Friend (VIDEO)

A video that has gone viral on social media shows a student protester at New York University who seems confused about why she is even there.

As often happens in a moment like this, young progressives will flock to a protest or cause without understanding all of the details. They just know that their friends on the left are doing it and therefore it must be a good cause.

This is so telling about this entire movement.

Newsweek reports:

Woman’s Reason for Joining Pro-Palestinian Protest Goes Viral

A woman’s reasoning for joining a pro-Palestinian protest at New York University (NYU) has gone viral on social media this week.

On Wednesday, former New York City Mayor and lawyer to former President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, showcasing an interview with a pro-Palestinian protester.

In the video, the individual is asked about the goal of protesters at NYU, to which the person responded, “I think the goal is showing our support for Palestine and demanding that NYU stops.”

“I honestly don’t know all of what NYU is doing … I really don’t know,” the individual says.

As the video continues, the individual is seen speaking to another fellow protester and asking if she is aware of why they are protesting.

“I wish I was more educated,” the second protester is heard saying.

Here’s the video:

Liberal Utopia: New California Law Could Terminate Up to 500,000 Jobs

The leftist legislators in California have done it again, making things more difficult for the very low-income people they claimed to be helping, this time with a law that is throwing thousands of minimum wage earners out of their jobs.

As Ronald Reagan used to say, the scariest words in the English language are “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help,” and California has once again proven that quip to be a hardbound truth.

Economics has always been a concept that liberals cannot understand. Deep-blue California’s recent passing of Assembly Bill 1228, forcing certain — but not all — fast-food restaurants to wildly raise their minimum wage by up to $4 an hour all at once, is having the unintended consequence of costing people their jobs, not enriching their lives.

As CNBC noted, the state has more than 500,000 fast-food workers, but now many of them are under threat of losing their jobs.

This month, the left coast state’s new $20-per-hour minimum wage took effect on the fast-food industry. Business owners have responded by putting in more electronic ordering devices and firing costly human employees.

The new wage hike comes on the tail of the disastrous COVID shutdowns that devastated the restaurant industry, causing profit margins to plummet. Just as restaurants in California were starting to regain their footing, the left-wing legislature weighed them down with this new wage law.

The warning by Burger King franchise owner Harsh Ghai is on target: Ghai said that the costly new wage law has forced him to put in place a plan to add electronic ordering kiosks at his 140 locations within two months, Business Insider reported.

Ghai even pointed out that prices for customers at fast-food places have gone up between eight and 10 percent in the past year, when prices usually only go up by about three percent a year. And this new wage law will make that problem worse.

“The majority of that is going to get absorbed in the inflation of our food costs,” he said of the higher costs the state is imposing on restaurants. “So we’re not even compensating for most of the labor costs that we’re going to be experiencing with this legislation.”

Ghai added that the higher prices — already in effect before the higher staffing costs began hitting business owners — are driving customers away. So, instead of raising prices further, the easiest way is to cut the number of employees.

The businessman added that he has revisited plans to roll out electronic, self-ordering kiosks over a 10-year period across his 140 locations and will now add them in a matter of months.

“[W]e are just going ahead and installing the kiosks in every single restaurant in response to the legislation to be able to balance some of these labor costs that are hitting us,” he said.

“We can’t move fast enough on this,” Ghai told Business Insider.

“We’ve done the financial analysis and it makes more sense for us to spend the capital expenditure on the technology, and obviously when you’re buying large amounts of the hardware, you obviously get it for a cheaper price as well,” he added.

“So it’s making more sense for us to just roll that across the business in its entirety,” he said.

Other restaurant chains have responded by firing hundreds of employees. A large number of pizza chains in California immediately fired their delivery drivers earlier this year after the law passed, including Pizza Hut and Southern California Pizza Co. stores in the state.

Many restaurants have even simply closed down rather than face barely scraping, by thanks to the higher costs imposed on them.

Still other restaurants are looking at plans to try locations that have no dining area and no cashiers at all. Chick-fil-A, for instance, is testing its “grab and go” locations where customers order exclusively online or via an app and pick up their order at a drive-through at a location with no cashiers and no eat-in area.

California’s left-wing legislature is causing every fast-food customer to dish out more for their food. But it is also costing tens of thousands of people their jobs. The legislature’s actions are having the exact opposite effect of what they intended.

With His Wife Indicted for Corruption, Spanish Socialist PM Sánchez Is Considering Resigning

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez writes a ‘Letter to the citizenry’, and announces that he is ‘suspending all his public duties to stop and reflect on the future and decide whether he wants to continue to be at the forefront of politics’.

Sánchez ‘won’ the last election in an illegitimate way, after breaking a solemn campaign promise and establishing an artificial majority by enacting an amnesty to the Catalan Separatists.

Now, as his wife is under investigation for influence peddling and corruption, Sánchez is indignant, threatening to resign his premiership because of what he calls political persecution.

Sanchez wrote on X:

“It is not usual for me to address you through a letter. However, the severity of the attacks that my wife and I are receiving, and the need to give a calm response, make me think that this is the best way to express my opinion. I thank you, therefore, for taking a little of your time to read these lines.

As you may already know, and if I do not inform you, a court in Madrid has opened preliminary proceedings against my wife, Begoña Gómez, at the request of a far-right organization called Clean Hands, to investigate alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in business.”

The judge in the case will call journalists that that have been covering the case to testify.

Sánchez said that his wife ‘will defend her honorability and will collaborate with Justice in everything required to clarify facts’ that he says ‘are as scandalous in appearance as they are non-existent’.

The case was initiated by Sánchez’ political rival Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Spanish People’s Party President, conservative member of the Congress of Deputies.

Feijóo reported the case to the Conflict of Interest Office, asking for the Prime Minister to be disqualified from holding public office.

Sánchez continues: “Next, they exploited their conservative majority in the Senate, promoting an investigative commission to, as they say, clarify the facts related to this matter. Logically, the case was missing. It is the step they have just taken.

In short, it is an operation of harassment and demolition by land, sea and air, to try to make me weaken politically and personally by attacking my wife.”

The ‘attacks’ are against what he represents: ‘a progressive political option, supported election after election by millions of Spaniards, based on economic progress, social justice and democratic regeneration.’

“Democracy spoke, but the right and the extreme right, again, did not accept the electoral result. They were aware that the political attack would not be enough and now they have crossed the line of respect for the family life of a President of the Government and the attack on his personal life.”

After a lot of complaining and painting his opponents in the worst colors, Sánchez gets to the point:

“At this point, the question I legitimately ask myself is, is all this worth it? Sincerely I dont know. This attack is unprecedented, it is so serious and so gross that I need to stop and reflect with my wife.

[…] I need to stop and reflect. I urgently need to answer the question of whether it is worth it. […] Whether I should continue at the head of the Government or resign from this high honor.”

Israeli Strikes More than 40 Hezbollah Sites, Defense Minister Claims South Lebanon Command is Decimated After Half of Hezbollah’s Commanders Killed

Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant. Photo: Reproduction/X/yoavgallant

On Wednesday, Israel Defense Forces carried out a large wave of strikes against 40+ sites belonging to the terror group.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant claimed that the military has killed half of Hezbollah’s commanders in southern Lebanon.

“The other half are hiding or abandoning southern Lebanon,” said Yoav Gallant.

He said there would be further action in the months to come: “The coming period will be decisive” as Israel is facing “a number of alternatives” to bring security to the north.

The Times of Israel reports:

“Half of the Hezbollah commanders in south Lebanon have been eliminated… and the other half hide and abandon south Lebanon to IDF operations,” Gallant said, after holding an assessment at the Northern Command headquarters in Safed with the chief of the command, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, and other top officers.

He said Israel’s main goal in the north was to return tens of thousands of Israelis displaced by Hezbollah’s daily attacks to their homes.

“We are dealing with a number of alternatives in order to establish this matter, and the coming period will be decisive in this regard,” Gallant said.

As the defense minister toured the Northern Command, the IDF said some 40 Hezbollah targets in the town of Ayta ash-Shab were hit within just several minutes by fighter jets and artillery shelling.

The strikes followed the terror group firing anti-tank missiles at northern Israel.

This was the reality in northern Israel this Passover morning.

  • Two counts of Election Law Forgery, a 5-year felony.

Charges against one of the sixteen defendants were dropped in exchange for cooperating with prosecutors.

It was revealed during Wednesday’s hearing that President Trump, his former attorney Rudy Giuliani and former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows were named as co-conspirators in Dana Nessel’s alternate electors indictment.

Howard Shock, a special agent for Dana Nessel’s office testified that Trump’s former lawyer Jenna Ellis is also an unindicted co-conspirator.

ABC News reported:

Former President Donald Trump, his former chief of staff Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani are unindicted co-conspirators in the Michigan attorney general’s case against the state’s so-called “fake electors” in the 2020 election, a state investigator revealed in court on Wednesday.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel charged 16 Republicans last year with forgery and conspiracy to commit election forgery for allegedly attempting to replace Michigan’s electoral votes for Joe Biden with electoral votes for Trump at the certification of the vote on Jan. 6, 2021.

During Wednesday’s hearing, which was part of preliminary examinations for the so-called fake electors, Howard Shock, a special agent for the attorney general’s office, also testified that former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis is also an unindicted co-conspirator.

Shock’s revelation was in response to questions from Duane Silverthorn, an attorney for Michele Lundgren, one of the so-called fake electors.

“Finally, former President Donald Trump?” asked Silverthorn.

“Yes,” Shock testified.

As reported by the Gateway Pundit,

Joe Biden is strongly considering granting over one million illegal aliens amnesty by the stroke of a pen just in time for the 2024 Presidential election and amid the worst immigration crisis in American history.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that this executive order would grant legalization to illegals married to U.S. citizens who are barred from receiving green cards.

The pro-illegal alien FWD.us notes that 1.1 million illegal aliens are currently married to American citizens.

The Daily Mail reports that the primary reasons these illegals were denied citizenship in these cases are because the individual has repeatedly entered the country illegally or forged legal documentation in the past.

To get around this “problem,” the Biden regime is looking at a so-called “parole in place” program for spouses of U.S. citizens not initially granted citizenship.

This status would ensure illegal aliens could obtain work permits and a path toward U.S. citizenship.

If you can’t win elections, all you have to do is simply import a million or so voters from foreign countries and grant them citizenship. The democrats aren’t even hiding their plans anymore, rather they are rubbing our faces in them and laughing. We are suffering through the worst immigration crisis in our lives as the democrats welcome in the foreign invaders knowing that they are tomorrows democrat voters.

Trump 2020 Alternate Electors Indicted in Arizona in Democrat AG Mayes’ Witch Hunt – Trump Listed as Unindicted Co-Conspirator!

Arizona AG Kris Mayes

Trump 2020 alternate electors, GOP state legislators, former Arizona GOP chairwoman Kelli Ward and others were indicted by a state grand jury in Arizona on Wednesday.

Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes announced on Wednesday afternoon. She defended her witch hunt and the curious timing of the indictment – just months before the 2024 general election. Make no mistake, the charges are a warning shot to anyone who may want to challenge the 2024 election.

“We conducted a thorough and professional investigation over the past 13 months into the fake electors scheme in our state,” Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a video announcing the charges. “I understand for some of you today didn’t come fast enough. And I know I’ll be criticized by others for conducting this investigation at all. But as I’ve stated before, and we’ll say here again, today, I will not allow American democracy to be undermined.”

WATCH:

Kris Mayes admitted last year she was investigating Trump’s 2020 alternate electors from Arizona.

In a dirty move, Mayes’ office knew the alternate electors were going to invoke their Fifth Amendment rights but she made them appear before a grand jury anyway. This is a highly unusual and risky move.

The Fifth Amendment allows a person to exercise their right to remain silent to protect against self-incrimination.

Democrat prosecutors requiring the Pro-Trump alternate electors to plead the Fifth before a grand jury could unnecessarily prejudice the grand jurors.

Although the Fifth Amendment is not an admission of guilt, grand jurors may assume the pro-Trump alternate electors are guilty.

The state grand jury on Wednesday indicted 11 Trump alternate electors, state legislators, GOP activists and others.

It appears Mark Meadows and possibly Rudy Giuliani or Michael Roman were also indicted, but their names were redacted.

President Trump was named “Unindicted Coconspirator-1” in the indictment because he made a phone call about the ballot counting to former governor Doug Ducey.

Excerpt from NBC News:

A state grand jury in Arizona on Wednesday indicted so-called “fake electors” who backed then-President Donald Trump in 2020, following a sprawling investigation into the alleged efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s win in the presidential election in the state.

Among those charged is Kelli Ward, who served as chair of the Arizona GOP during the 2020 election and the immediate aftermath. She tweeted on Jan. 6, 2021, after the attack on the U.S. Capitol: “Congress is adjourned. Send the elector choice back to the legislatures.” Ward was a consistent propagator of false claims that Arizona’s election results were rigged.

Others charged include: state legislators Anthony Kern and Jake Hoffman; Michael Ward, Kelli Ward’s husband; Tyler Bowyer, the Republican National Committee’s Arizona committeeman and the chief operating officer of the Trump-aligned Turning Point USA; Greg Safsten, the former Arizona GOP executive director; former U.S. Senate candidate Jim Lamon; Robert Montgomery, the former head of the Cochise County GOP; and Republican Party activists Samuel Moorhead, Nancy Cottle and Loraine Pellegrino.

The indictment lists Trump as “Unindicted Coconspirator 1.” It also includes redacted names of other people who have been charged in the case but have not yet been served.

When the Democrats cast alternate electors it’s called ‘dueling electors.’ When the Republicans cast alternate electors it’s called ‘fake electors’ and indictments come down from crooked Democrat attorneys general.

Democrat prosecutors in other states are also targeting Trump’s alternate electors.

In July Democrat Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel criminally charged 16 dueling ‘Trump electors’ in the state’s 2020 election.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently indicted three of Trump’s alternate electors in Georgia as part of her RICO and conspiracy case against Trump.
